What are Gig Buddies Group Social Events?

Gig Buddies group social events are hosted by the GB team so that all signed-up participants* and volunteers in the Gig Buddies project can catch up and do fun stuff in a group setting.

Monthly group social events are held all over Metro Sydney and Central Coast.

* a Gig Buddies participant has mild to moderate learning disability and/or autism

The main focus of the Gig Buddies project is to "buddy-up" participants and volunteers so they can catch up and go to their own events together.

Gig Buddies group social events are a "bonus" way for participants to meet people and socialise.

All group social events are run as "not-for-profit".

Participants only pay for a group social event if they need to cover the cost of admission tickets, venue hire and/or catering.

Group social events are included* as part of being in the Gig Buddies project.

* participants pay for their own food and drinks  (unless a catered event)

Tell me about the gig: Join us to attend an inclusive musical!

Join us for Sydney’s first inclusive production of Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical, One Act Edition, a high-energy, heart-pumping show featuring a diverse cast of talented performers aged 9 to 59 of all abilities and disabilities. What’s more, each character is portrayed by a performer without disability buddied up with one or two performers with disability. The result? A dynamic, uplifting, heart-warming experience where everyone shines on stage!

This musical blends beloved hits from The Disney Channels Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (featuring Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers). The story follows Mitchie and her friends as they arrive at Camp Rock, only to face a new rival: the flashy Camp Star. To save their beloved camp, Mitchie steps up to lead her fellow rockers in an epic showdown!

This production is packed with music, joy, and moments that will inspire audiences of all ages. After the show, join the cast for an interactive sing-along to keep the energy soaring!

Host: Charlotte (0403 184 404).

*There will be one Gig Buddies staff member for up to 15 attendees (participants and volunteers combined). If you need extra support, please let us know if you plan on bringing a support worker/support person with you to this event.
