What are Gig Buddies Group Social Events?
Gig Buddies group social events are hosted by the GB team so that all signed-up participants* and volunteers in the Gig Buddies project can catch up and do fun stuff in a group setting.
Monthly group social events are held all over Metro Sydney and Central Coast.
* a Gig Buddies participant has mild to moderate learning disability and/or autism
The main focus of the Gig Buddies project is to "buddy-up" participants and volunteers so they can catch up and go to their own events together.
Gig Buddies group social events are a "bonus" way for participants to meet people and socialise.
All group social events are run as "not-for-profit".
Participants only pay for a group social event if they need to cover the cost of admission tickets, venue hire and/or catering.
Group social events are included* as part of being in the Gig Buddies project.
* participants pay for their own food and drinks (unless a catered event)

What: Under 30’s Gig @ Strike Bowling Darling Harbour
Where: Strike Bowling Darling Harbour - 22 The Promenade, Sydney NSW 2000
Tell me about the gig: You asked, and we listened! We are inviting all Gig Buddies who are under 30-years of age to join us for an epic night of bowling and food!

*There will be two Gig Buddies staff member for up to 25 attendees (participants and volunteers combined). If you need extra support, please let us know if you plan on bringing a support worker/support person with you to this event.
When: Friday 25th October
What time do we meet? 6:00pm
What time does it end? 8:00pm
Meeting spot: Inside Strike Bowling Darling Harbour
How much does it cost? $20 per buddy, for two games of bowling
> Volunteers whose buddies have a companion card can bowl for free!
****You will need to pay for yourself on the day****

What else do I need to bring?
- Money for bowling ($20)
- Money for food / drinks
- ID
- Don’t forget your Opal card if catching public transport
- Phone for pictures and finding staff
- Mask and sanitiser if you wish

How do I join? Register by getting a ticket from this page (click 'add to bag' in the top right hand corner and enter your details)
**** The numbers are strictly limited, as we have a limited number of bowling lanes available, so grab your ticket quickly! ****
Please note:
- Attendees must bring ID.
- Gig Buddies staff will be in attendance, but will not be on hand to provide individual support.
- Getting there: Transport to and from the venue is not supplied. Attendees are responsible for making their own way to and from the venue.
- Getting home: Gig Buddies staff may help attendees with catching public transport, taxis or Ubers home - up until 30 minutes after the scheduled end; Gig Buddies staff are unable to assist attendees who remain at the venue beyond this time.
- Attendees do not need to be paired with a gig buddy to join us. All signed up participants or volunteers are welcome to join us.
- COVID-19: If you’re feeling unwell we ask that you do not attend.
- Participants who require extra support must let the Gig Buddies team know if they will be bringing along a support worker or family member to an event. Thank you.

To register for a Group Social Event:
1. Click on the event you want to go to
2. Enter the number of tickets you like then click "add to bag" (many events are FREE!!!)
3. Click "Go to Checkout"
4. Enter your email address and agree to terms and conditions and click "Checkout"
5. Enter your details and click "Place Order"
* you must be a registered Gig Buddies participant with an active Service Agreement or a registered volunteer.
** if you do not sign-up (register) for an event, you will not be able to attend.
