Wanted: Soul Fly Band members

Our user-led group, Soul Fly Band, are looking to recruit two new willing participants to join them in their ongoing role in shaping Gig Buddies Sydney.

Meeting monthly, Soul Fly Band come together and provide strategic direction for the program, formulate marketing ideas and come up with suggestions for future events. They also help with advocacy, promotion of the project and recruitment of gig buddies.

In their own words: “We are the Soul Fly Band. We help people with disabilities get out more and do different things.

We help shape the Gig Buddies Sydney project by coming together once a month”.

Soul Fly Band members Audrey, Alyse, Stavros and Lachie are looking to recruit two exisiting gig buddies who can come together for one Friday a month for two hours (meetings start at midday and finish at 2pm).

If you or someone you know would be interested in joining, or if you would like more information, get in touch via email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org

In other Gig Buddies news, thanks to everyone who joined us on Friday night as we ventured to Sydney Festival’s Meriton Village.

It was great to see so many gig buddies at Hyde Park. We return - one final time for this year’s festival - next Saturday (27/1) for Trygve Wakenshaw: Nautilus. Unfortunately our allocation of free tickets have been snapped up, but to anyone interested in joining us, tickets can be bought from this link
