Shaping up for summer

Roll up, roll up….. our summer gig guide has landed.

Along with the Symphony Under the Stars event taking place at The Crescent in Parramatta on Saturday 19 January, all Sydney Festival events - A Ghost in my Suitcase (Wednesday 9 January at Sydney Opera House), Shanghai Mimi (Tuesday 15 January at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta) and Julia Holter (Sunday 20 January at Spiegeltent, Hyde Park) - are free to attend.

We’re indebted to the generosity of Sydney Festival organisers'. Year after year they continue to support our work, offering us free access to some of the best live entertainment available.

To book your place to any of our Sydney Festival events get in touch via email, info@gigbuddiessydney.org. While we have no limitations on numbers for the Symphony Under the Stars event, tickets to A Ghost in my Suitcase, Shanghai Mimi and Julia Holter are strictly limited and will be issued on a first come, first serve basis.

Howzat?!

This summer we’re also excited to partake in a Gig Buddies Sydney first - the Big Bash Twenty/20 cricket.

On Sunday 13 January we head to Olympic Park’s Spotless Stadium for the game between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers. Tickets, costing $26.50 each, are limited and can be purchased via our online shop, found here.

We’re aware that a number of unmatched buddies have included Gig Buddies Sydney in their NDIS plan. While we continue in trying to find matches for such participants, we want to demonstrate that we’re taking steps to deliver on our mission statement of ‘tackling social isolation and expanding social circles’. Our social events are great occasions where buddies can partake in their passions and meet likeminded people - whether paired up or not.

Beyond January

As for the rest of our summer movements…. we still have two or three announcements to make, including details on our fourth birthday - more of which will be revealed in the new year.

If you have any questions about any of the events mentioned, feel free to get in touch. We can be reached via email, info@gigbuddiesydney.org, by phone (02 9419 6951) or Facebook Messenger.
