We’ve something for everyone 🏈 🎶 🎭 😂

AFL, live music, theatre and comedy - we’re excited to bring you news of our upcoming Gig Buddies Sydney socials.

On Friday March 29 we’ll partake in a Gig Buddies Sydney first, the AFL between Sydney Swans and Adelaide Crows, while on Tuesday 9 April we head to the Metro Theatre for a band we sampled at last year’s Vivid Sydney Festival, Middle Kids.

Live sport and music aside, we’re also off to the theatre for a “scrumdiddlyumptious” experience: Thursday 18 April we take a trip to the Capitol Theatre for the ever popular Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical; our autumn gig guide concludes with an annual trip to the Sydney Comedy Festival - this time for the offerings of stand up legend Akmal.

That’s a full house

Last week we detailed our plans for our first autumnal event, Gender Bender Bingo. We’re delighted to announce that we sold our allocation of seats in record time. For those that did miss out, we will be returning later in the year.

But there’s more….

We have been approached by two organisations wanting to provide Gig Buddies Sydney participants’ the opportunity to partake in their upcoming events.

Firstly, Opera Australia are offering buddies a discounted rate to a “relaxed performance” of West Side Story.

Taking place on Wednesday 17 April, this style of style of performance is designed to ensure adults with disability and their families are able to enjoy the performance experience together.

For anyone wanting to know more about discount tickets get in touch with the Gig Buddies Sydney team via email, info@gigbuddiessydney.org, and we’ll happily assist.

Jazz hands at the ready

Secondly, the friendly team at Sydney Swing have announced plans to generously provide Gig Buddies Sydney participants’ free access to their following events:

- Friday 3rd May 8.30pm at Ruby’s Dance Hall, with a live band and social dancing (usually $30, free for Gig Buddies Sydney participants’)

- Saturday 4th May 8.00pm venue TBC, with a live band, performance, and social dancing (usually $40, free for Gig Buddies Sydney participants’)

- Sunday 5th May 8.30pm venue TBC, with a live band, and social dancing (usually $35, free for Gig Buddies Sydney participants’).

To reserve your place at any of their forthcoming parties, drop us a line: info@gigbuddiessydney.org. Sydney Swing also run a series of dance classes, the next of which starts on Wednesday 20 March. To find out more head to swingdancesydney.com
