2025, it is on!

We’re pumped to announce the first Gig Buddies’ socials for the new year.

In January ’25 we invite buddies to connect with us as we head to Milsons Point, Avoca Beach, Burwood, Brooklyn, Mona Vale, Merrylands and Kirrawee.

We’ll be meeting up for a trip to the art markets, for fish and chips on the beach and our 35-and-over catch ups return, while the Chinatown Markets, one of two brewery stop offs, and a night of delicious desserts are also on the cards.

Change of venue

But before we get into the new year, we have the small matter of two Gig Buddies’ festive gatherings to facilitate.

On that subject, due to circumstances outside of our control we have changed the venue for our Central Coast offering.

Still taking place on Sunday 24 November, we now invite buddies to join us at Kincumber Hotel.

To join us as we celebrate the end of another year, jump on the link below.

Please note, all ticket sales to our original gathering at Shady Palms have been cancelled (an email was sent to those who had signed up for the event).

It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas

And the countdown to our Sydney festive offering is on.

As a reminder, next Thursday (21/11) we’ll be taking over the top floor at the Rose of Australia in Erskineville.

This a friendly nudge to say tickets are flying out the door and we’re nearing capacity.

For those yet to buy a ticket, we’ll be closing the shop next Monday (18/11). You have SEVEN days left to secure your spot for our night of festive cheer, tasty treats and plenty of party classics.

2024, over and out

And looking beyond November, tickets to our December offerings are starting to shift.

As a reminder, for the final month of 2024 you’ll find us in Bankstown, Kings Cross, Hurstville, Campbelltown, Dee Why, Galston and Randwick as we catch up for dinners, pub trivia, arcade games, movies, bowling and Christmas carols.

To find out more about each gathering (and to sign up), load up the links above.

And if you have questions about any of our forthcoming events, get in touch: we can be reached via Facebook Messenger, email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org or via text or phone call on 0411 252 228.

'Fly Me To The Moon'

Each and every month we bring you the news and views from those who make up our user-led team, Soul Fly Buddies.

Today we hear from Jack, who tells us more about Brendan, his buddy who recently got married.

“When I first joined Gig Buddies, I never thought I’d be present at my buddy’s wedding and yet that’s exactly what happened last month.

With my darling partner Hannah (below right), we watched in the beautiful scenery of Chapel Hill in the Blue Mountains almost in a sequence from a fairytale or movie. Brendan, not just my buddy but also a really good friend, had tears in his eyes as his soon to be wife walked down the aisle and exchanged the most heartfelt and tender vows to each other.

Later, after a delicious roast dinner the reception kicked off with a wonderful romantic first dance set to Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly Me To The Moon’, what followed was a night of singing, dancing and many cans of Guinness drunk.

That night came the traditional throwing of the bouquet and Hannah was the lucky one who caught it. What happens next well you’ll have to watch closely.”
