Calling all men: we need you

In conjunction with this year’s Movember movement, we at Gig Buddies Sydney are putting out an appeal of our own: centred specifically around men, we’re eager to attract more male volunteers.

Existing users of our service may be unaware, but we have a large imbalance of female to male volunteers. Moreover, in specific parts of the city, namely the lower and upper north shore and the northern beaches, we have a significant shortage of signed up men (see image below)

Between Milsons Point and Hornsby we have eight male buddies waiting for a match, while we currently have a grand total of three male volunteers - two of whom have potential buddies lined up (we’re waiting to find a suitable training date).

And we currently have zero male volunteers located on the Northern Beaches, while we have ten male buddies waiting to be paired up.

To those men out there who may be thinking about signing up - we hope the snapshot above, which showcases some of the magnificent male volunteers we’ve matched up, will inspire you to head to our online application form.

We also want our existing service users to nominate their male mates. We’re calling on brothers, dads, uncles, sons and granddads - can you tag three people who you think would make a difference?

If you know someone who’s a social butterfly and enjoys nothing more than watching a band or cheering on their favourite team, share the love by informing them of our appeal.

We expand

And on the subject of matching up buddies, we’re excited to welcome Kendel and Becki (below, L - R) to the family.

Having just confirmed another volunteer training session for December, we’re looking forward to getting more buddies paired up before the end of the year.
