Have a question for us? We're here to hear

Updated: May 3, 2020

We invite participants, parents and support workers to our first ever online Gig Buddies Sydney Covid-19 Q&A session.

Taking place this Thursday (7/5), attendees will have the opportunity to quiz the team about the following topics:

  • Gig Buddies Sydney and the NDIS

  • What Gig Buddies Sydney are doing during the lockdown

  • How we’re adapting and engaging with participants

  • Our online social interactions

  • Information on supporting buddies to participate in online social events

In support of Thursday’s discussion, Carol - the project’s CEO, has released the following statement.

Our Gig Buddies Sydney Covid-19 Q&A session will take place on Zoom at 8:30pm, and we’re encouraging attendees to submit their questions in advance.

For anyone who requires assistance in using Zoom, load up the following easy read guide written by Learning Disability Wales. Alternatively, click here to check out our 'how to use Zoom' video.

And for more information about our Q&A discussion, including how to register and to submit your questions, click here.

Games galore

We are also inviting participants to join us for our online socials. This week we'll be partaking in the following:

Tuesday 5/5:

- 7:30pm: Pictionary

Thursday 7/5:

- Midday: Pictionary

Friday 8/5:

- Midday: Pet-a-rama

To join us for our online socials, click on any of the events listed above. The links will take you to our ticket page where you’re required to register. The ticket page will also include information about what technology you need to take part in the games.

And just like our Q&A session, all online games will take place via Zoom. We’ve also written an easy read guide for Kahoot!, the app used for Gig Buddies Sydney movie trivia. Click here to read.

To take part in Gig Buddies Sydney movie trivia, buddies will need to access two devices - one to run Zoom and the other to enable the Kahoot! app. For example, buddies could access Zoom via a desktop computer/laptop and load up the Kahoot! app on a smartphone or tablet.

If you have any questions about any of our up and coming online socials, send us an email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org, get in touch on Facebook Messenger or call or contact us via text on either 0422 061 990 or 0412 145 819.

Bring out your inner child

Buddies are also invited to partake in the first ever Gig Buddies Sydney Play-Doh challenge.

We have 9 spots available. To join in participants are required to register via the following link. A Play-Doh set will then be mailed out, after which buddies are invited to create their very own masterpieces.

A Zoom social will be arranged at a later date for those who sign up, where buddies will have the chance to show off their creations.

Pawsome!

And on the subject of firsts, this forthcoming Friday (8/5) we’re hosting a Gig Buddies Sydney pet-a-rama.

Bring your furry friends along and join us on Zoom at midday. Those without pets are also welcome to join - click here to register.

And finally….

We continue to offer participants the opportunity to engage with staff via our Facebook chats and the online socials.

And we’re here to remind participants that if you’re experiencing increased levels of social isolation to please get in touch. Buddies can text or call us on either 0422 061 990 or 0412 145 819. We’re here to chat.
