Writer's picture: Gig Buddies SydneyGig Buddies Sydney

A Sydney music festival, trivia and dinners, bites to eat, a free movie night, lawn bowls, axe throwing and music bingo: we’ve plenty going on in April.

We’re covering all points on the Sydney and Central Coast compass as we connect with buddies in Petersham, Waverley, The Entrance, Campbeltown, Willoughby, Hornsby, Brookvale, the CBD and Liverpool.

Marching on

For those of you who may have missed the news, we recently added THREE new social offerings to our March itinerary - taking our total to EIGHT gigs for the month.

Next month you’ll find us in Penrith, Brookvale, Gymea, Moore Park, Newtown, Warnervale, Parramatta and Chatswood. To join us for lunches, dancing, virtual golf, crazy shakes, stand-up comedy, dinners and Camp Rock the Musical, jump on the links below:

And if you have questions about any of our forthcoming events, get in touch: we can be reached via Facebook Messenger, email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org or via text or phone call on 0411 252 228.

No room at the inn

Please note, our two remaining February outings - TGI Fridays at Macquarie Centre (21/2) and karaoke and dinner in Oatley (28/2) - have both sold out.

The month so far

On the subject of our February offerings, we’ve already facilitated six this month: burgers and arcades (Edmondson Park), dinner (Blacktown), our under-35s Holey Moley gathering (Alexandria), Super Bowl LIX (Surry Hills), the movies (Hornsby) and Mardi Gras Field Day (CBD).

Three is the magic number

We’ve a trio of new matches to tell you about.

It’s wonderful to welcome Janine and Vicki (left, L - R), Karen and Matthew (right, L - R) and Simon and Christopher (not pictured) to the Gig Buddies community.

Team America

Last week we shared news of our recent catch up with the team from Ability Matters.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Ability Matters is an organisation that facilitates and supports their clients to travel to other countries and experience different cultures.

Following their January visit to Sydney, they’re returning with 40 clients next month - and we’re hosting a joint social to mark the occasion.

To join us for an evening of lawn bowls, burgers and the chance to meet our American friends, jump on the link above.

Medicare Mental Health Centres

And lastly, the Australian Government is working in partnership with states and territories to establish Medicare Mental Health Centres across Australia. The centres provide a safe and welcoming place for anyone to access free, quality mental health care over extended hours.

The Medicare Mental Health Centres are staffed by a team of highly qualified mental health professionals and people with lived experience of mental health. They will listen and work with you to provide you with the care you need.

Support through the centres is free. You do not need a Medicare card, appointment or a GP referral.

The centres provide free, immediate, short and medium-term care to anyone. They aim to make it easier for anyone living in Australia to access equitable, free, and quality mental health support closer to home.
