More in May

Writer: Gig Buddies SydneyGig Buddies Sydney

Foodies, movie goers, beer aficionados, NRL fans’, music lovers and appreciators of the quirky: we invite you to join us in May for any of our five social gatherings.

For the final month of autumn we’ll be connecting with buddies in Parramatta, Eastgardens, Rouse Hill, Mosman and Gosford.

Movies, lunches, music, craft beers and live NRL, a trip to the House Down Under, and the return of our ur over 35s catch ups: we’ve plenty going on.

To attend any of our May gatherings (or to find out more information about each), jump on the links above.

Land ahoy!

Our newly announced May socials are in addition to our birthday bonanza, taking place on Saturday 31 May at the spectacular Australian National Maritime Museum.

Sales to our tenth are soaring! We’ve had a great reaction since announcing details for our birthday - thank you to everyone who’s purchased a ticket.

As a reminder, we’ll be celebrating from 6 - 9pm and on the night partygoers can expect our usual tidings: plentiful food, live music and door giveaways.

And we're also providing the perfect backdrop to our birthday extravaganza: courtesy of our party vantage point, attendees will be able to soak up the sights and sounds of Vivid Festival.

Whether you’re based in Sydney or on the Central Coast, we invite you dust off those dancing shoes and join us.

Tickets to our 10th cost $49 and can be purchased here.

Win, win, win!

Would you like to win a DOUBLE PASS to our 10th birthday?

We’re offering our existing bunch of buddies (buddies and volunteers) the chance to win free entry to our party.

Simply refer a volunteer and you’ll go in the hat to win two tickets.

The new volunteer must submit a completed application via this weblink (https://www.gigbuddiessydney.org/volunteers) for the referrer to go into the hat.

We have one double pass to give away. The more referrals, the more times your name will go in the hat!

Next month

On the subject of sales, tickets to our April gatherings are also flying out the door.

Next month you’ll find us at The Entrance, Campbeltown, Hornsby, Brookvale and Liverpool as we catch up for trivia, bites to eat, a free movie night and axe throwing.

So far four gatherings have sold out, while we’re down to the final few tickets to those remaining.

To join us, jump on the links above. And if you have questions about any of our forthcoming events, get in touch: we can be reached via Facebook Messenger, email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org or via text or phone call on 0411 252 228.

Know more about Gig Buddies

Would you (or someone you know) like to know more about who we are and what we do?

Well we’ll be out and about at two separate locations this Thursday (27/3).

Firstly, you’ll find us in Chatswood for the Lower North Shore Volunteer Expo. Taking place at Dougherty Community Centre, this is your chance to find out more about the benefits of volunteering with Gig Buddies.

The Lower North Shore Volunteer Expo takes place between 11:30am - 1:30pm. For more information, load up this link.

On the same day you’ll also find us in Burwood, connecting with attendees at the Inner West Disability Forum.

This takes place at Club Burwood RSL between 9 - 11:30am.

Unfortunately, this event has sold out however, those interested in attending can go on the waitlist by clicking here.

Team LGBTQIA+

And lastly, following our recent social gathering at Fair Day - our first LGBTQIA+ and allies social event - we’re hosting a Zoom to start work on establishing Gig Buddies’ very own LGBTQIA+ user-led team.

Taking place on Tuesday 1 April at 6pm, the meeting will be more of a ‘get to know each other’ session. We’ll also be finding out what attendees would like to get out of being part of the group - and how Gig Buddies can best support to facilitate.

Get ready to share your thoughts, suggestions and ideas!
