Lunch, brunch, Mexican and Asian food outings. Pub catch ups, barefoot bowls and karaoke.

We’ve plenty going on in the month of March.

Fun times in February

And tickets are selling fast for our February outings.

Next month we invite buddies to us in Auburn, Edmondson Park, Darling Harbour, the CBD, Hornsby, Gymea, Longueville and Kingsford as we serve up the following: Lebanese dinner, gaming, a roaming silent disco, burgers and a movie, Super Bowl LVIII, an art exhibition, a lunch gathering, and music bingo.

We do like to be beside the seaside….

As for the here and now, we have one remaining January event to offer.

Limited tickets are still available for next Wednesday’s (31/1) picnic dinner, taking place at Brighton-le-Sands Beach.

Six and out

And on the subject of our socials, we facilitated another three last week.

We caught up with buddies in Leichhardt, Wyong and Parramatta while our scheduled event in Windsor was unfortunately cancelled.

Thanks to everyone who joined us. So far in 2024 we’ve facilitated six Gig Buddies’ gatherings, all in addition to events put on by Sydney Festival and our free trip to Field Day.

Get voting

We’ve asked, we’ve received and now it’s time to vote!

Late last year we put out an appeal for our community to come up with a Gig Buddies' slogan. Specifically, we were after someone to come up with some words that sum up who we are and what we do.

With so many fantastic suggestions, we called upon our user-led team, Soul Fly Buddies to come up with their favoured picks.

And, based on their selections, we’re now calling on our community to vote for their favourite.

To select your choice, click on the image above. Voting closes on Monday 5 February.

2024…. Up and running

Our first matches for 2024 are confirmed.

It’s wonderful to welcome Ella and Lisa (above, L - R), along with Grace and Amalia, and Nathan and Alexander (both not pictured) to the team.

Prepped and ready to go

Likewise, we extend a warm welcome to Cara, our first fully trained volunteer for the year.

Thanks for joining us on Zoom last week.

New for 2024

We’re looking for podcast enthusiasts to get involved in our new idea.

Would you like to help put together a Gig Buddies podcast? We’re looking for people to help us with:

- Recording interviews

- Sharing stories

- Brainstorming ideas

We’re also keen on hearing from anyone who would like to help us with production, too.

Gig Buddies' staff will be facilitating this project and can provide some support around this.

If you are keen to get involved, please email the team at info@gigbuddiessydney.org.

Online safety

And lastly…. we’re all for increasing awareness of the importance of online safety.

The team from Endeavour are facilitating an ‘online safety academy’, providing attendees a ‘free interactive learning resource to help people with intellectual disability stay safe online.’
