'Something for everyone'

To everyone involved with Gig Buddies, Happy National Volunteer Week.

National Volunteer Week is our chance to say ‘thank you’ to those who give their time into making us what we are.

In line with this year’s theme of ‘something for everyone’, we’ve put together a montage that showcases just that. Press play on the image below to see what our amazing band of buddies get up to in their spare time.

During our nine years of existence - across Sydney and the Central Coast - we have paired up a total of 586 volunteers. Currently, we have 157 matches, while there are another dozen in the process.

Whether you experience live music, catch up for coffee, partake in bush walks, cheer on your favourite team or anything that involves simply spending time together - we thank our past and present volunteers who have - and continue to - give their time for our cause.

We started the Gig Buddies program over nine years ago. To witness the growth of the project and the relationships formed during that time is truly wonderful.

To all our volunteers, thank you for selflessly giving your time. Happy National Volunteer Week, one and all.

"Let’s come together"

The team behind #NVW2024 are aiming to “recognise the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to the act of volunteering.

It’s an invitation to explore the myriad of opportunities available, emphasising that there’s a place for everyone in the world of volunteering. Whether you’re drawn to environmental causes, community outreach, education, or beyond, there’s a place where your unique skills and interests can flourish.

Let’s come together during National Volunteer Week, embracing this theme to showcase the vast spectrum of possibilities and the transformative impact that emerges when everyone finds their meaningful role in making a difference.”

We certainly feel this applies to our past and current batch of amazing volunteers.
