The Archibald exhibition, fish and chips, lunch outings and lots of live music: we’re excited to announce our September socials.
Our first socials of spring also come with an added twist: the majority of our gatherings will be hosted by a different Gig Buddies’ hub coordinator.
Gig Buddies’ staff will be taking to the road and connecting with buddies in the CBD, Coogee, Rhodes, Campbelltown, Cronulla, Avalon Beach, Gosford and Kellyville Ridge.

An NDIS update
As many of you may know, we recently contacted all relevant buddies with an NDIS price update.
Recently, the NDIS released the findings of their Annual Pricing Review and their NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2024-25 guide.
As such, from July 1 2024 the administration charge for Gig Buddies will change for all of our current participants (aka buddies) who have a current Service Agreement in place.
What’s the increase?
Gig Buddies sets its administration charge in line with the current ‘NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits’ guide.
The Gig Buddies administration charge is a set amount that is invoiced monthly. Regardless of how many hours a buddy spends with their volunteer or how many facilitated group social events a buddy attends, this amount is the same each month.
If you have an NDIS plan, we can be funded from either of the following support categories:
Capacity Building Increased Social & Community Participation (Support Category 3.09) Life transition planning including mentoring peer support & individual skill development. Support Item Ref No. 09_006_0106_6_3
OR
Core Support Assistance with Social & Community Participation (Support Category 1.04) Provision of supports to enable the Participant to engage in community/social & or recreational activities within the community. Support Item Ref No. 04_104_0125_6_1
As per the ‘NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2024-25’ guide released last week, the Gig Buddies charge will change for all buddies from July 1st 2024 to the following:
Core Support/Fee For Service: $202.68 per month
Capacity Building: $231.00 per month.
Why are Gig Buddies doing this?
As an organisation, we are not immune to broader economic pressures. Recently, we’ve experienced wage increases and changes to our modern award.
As such, to keep up with Fair Work Commission award changes’ and cost of living pressures, this is a requirement - and one that will ensure we maintain the quality and effectiveness of the project.
How will my current NDIS funding be impacted?
The NDIA has announced that “plans of NDIS participants will be adjusted starting in July, with funding being indexed on 13 July to account for these pricing changes.”
In short, this means that participants will receive extra funding automatically within their NDIS plan that will help address the increase in pricing.
More information plan pricing adjustments can be found here.
When will the new Gig Buddies administration charge be changed on our NDIS/Fee For Service invoices?
The first invoice issued after Thursday 18th July 2024 will reflect the new amount.
As a reminder, depending on which support category buddies stipulated when setting up their service agreement, it will be either:
Core Support/Fee For Service: $202.68 per month
Capacity Building: $231.00 per month.
I’m not sure if I’m paying from Core Support, Capacity Building or if I’m Fee For Service?
This will be stated within your current Gig Buddies' Service Agreement.
You can either revisit your current service agreement, or get in touch and we can clarify.
