We’re hiring

Would you like to work for Gig Buddies? We’re looking to appoint a Northern Beaches’ part-time hub coordinator.

The Northern Beaches hub coordinator will be the first point of contact for those based within the region. Our new team member will connect with existing and potential service users - helping us to increase awareness of who we are and what we do.

Please note, as per the requirements of the role, the appointee is required to reside on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The closing date for applications is Monday 27 May. For more information about the role, click here.

This is a part-time position, four days per fortnight (30.4 hours).

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, send your CV to project CEO, Carol Smail: carol@assistcom.org. Additionally, if you would like more information about the position, call us on 02 9419 6951.

And then we turned nine

Last Thursday was truly remarkable - thank you to everyone who partied with us for our 9th birthday in North Sydney.

We took over Greenwood Hotel’s Chapel Room, celebrating our milestone with over 120 of you.

Door prizes, great music courtesy of our superb DJ Thomas Knight, bountiful food and plenty of happy faces: Thursday night was magnificent.

Winner winner, chicken dinner

On the night of our 9th we also held a competition, encouraging attendees to snap, tag and share images from our birthday.

To everyone who posted a photo or video and tagged either the Gig Buddies Sydney Facebook or Instagram accounts, thank you.

Your names have gone into the hat to win a DOUBLE PASS to our CHRISTMAS PARTY.

The draw will take place this Friday (10/5) and the winner will be announced in next Monday’s newsletter.

Vroom, vroom, vroooooom

And those who attended our birthday had the chance to cast their ballot and name our new car.

After tallying up the votes, the winner is…….. Gigi!

Despite a late and somewhat very suspicious run from the ‘wee baby Sheamus’, Gigi took the honours, pipping Bella in our poll.

And it's been a busy few days for the latest addition to the office. Not only has Gigi travelled around Sydney and the Central Coast, she’s also found time to create an Instagram account!

You can follow Gigi by clicking here.

Each and every month we invite buddies to connect with us for our online chats.

Our chats take place via Zoom. To attend get in touch via text: 0422 061 990 or Facebook Messenger.

More in May

Later in the month we’ll be connecting with buddies in Gregory Hills and Long Jetty.

Firstly, we’re heading west for burgers, shakes and street art (18/5). Then later in the month you’ll catch us on the Central Coast for a night of Aussie pub grub (29/5).

The magnificent eight

And as for June, we’ve a total of EIGHT socials taking place.

Lunch and dinner catch ups, whale watching, musical bingo and Supanova: we’ve plenty on offer for the first month of winter.
