Interest in us attending an international music festival is growing.
As a reminder, we’re heading to Wollongong for the Yours and Owls Festival, taking place on Saturday 14 October.
On the day we’ll be rocking to sets from music royalty that includes Hilltop Hoods, Golden Features, Masego and Ocean Alley.
To see the full Saturday lineup, click here. Please note, we will only be attending Yours and Owls on the Saturday. We will not be present on the Sunday.
Thanks to the generosity of event organisers, we're able to offer the following discount on tickets:
$100 for Gig Buddies’ participants (who are signed up to the project)
$50 for active volunteers who's buddy does not have a companion card
$0 for active volunteers or support who's buddy does have a companion card
This is a massive saving for Gig Buddies’ as a Saturday pass normally sell for $159.95.
I want to join!
As previously mentioned, we’ve had a strong uptake already.
To join us, buddies are required to firstly register their interest. To do so, load up the following link (it also contains more information about Yours and Owls Festival).
Please note, this discounted offer is extended to active buddies only (an active buddy is someone who is currently matched; someone who has submitted an NDIS service agreement; someone who has been matched recently; or someone who has undergone volunteer training).
Once we receive notification of your interest to attend, we will be in touch with next steps.
Having been around for over nine years, we know that buddies are desperate for us to facilitate a gathering at a large festival. We encourage people to get involved and take full advantage of this amazing offer.

We have two remaining socials planned for September.
This forthcoming Saturday (23/9) we head to Auburn for a stroll through its botanic gardens.
And one week later (30/9) we venture further west, stopping off at Campbelltown’s The Campbell for a night of dinner and live music.
To join us at either event, load up the links below:
Beyond September
And as for the month ahead, tickets are still available for our following October outings:
So far the lawn bowls gathering in Clovelly has sold out, while tickets to our Lake Haven and Penrith movie gigs are selling fast.
And last week we revealed a cheaper price for our outing at the Koala Park in West Pennant Hills.
Originally priced at $32 per person, buddies can now join us for $15!
To find out more about our October social events (and to sign up), load up the links above.
And if you have any questions about our forthcoming gatherings, get in touch: we can be reached via Facebook Messenger, email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org or via text or phone call on 0411 252 228.
We got our shake 'n' bake
On the subject of our socials, we headed to the Central Coast on Saturday - stopping off at Warnies in Warnervale.
It was a hot one - thick shakes were the definite order of the day. To everyone who got a sugar high with us, thank you for coming along.

Each and every week we invite buddies to connect with us for our weekly chat.
Our chats take place via Zoom. To attend get in touch via text: 0422 061 990 or Facebook Messenger.

We have news of a new pairing to share.
Welcome Karim and Rod (above, L - R) to the team. We look forward seeing you both out and about.
Prepped and ready to go
We want to say thanks to the latest batch of volunteers who joined us on Zoom for training.
It was great to meet Charlotte (above), along with Kerim and Lauren (not pictured). We look forward to announcing another three matches soon.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to everyone who’s rightfully received recognition at recent NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards ceremonies'.
